At this time last week, Wichita State freshman Ricky Council IV had played just four minutes of college basketball. Today he's a member of the American Athletic Conference's weekly honor roll.

Council -- a 6-foot-6 guard from Durham, N.C. -- totaled 26 points and 16 rebounds in 33 minutes off the bench to lead the Shockers to a pair of victories last week.

Council posted team-highs with 13 points and eight rebounds in only 16 minutes during Tuesday's American opener at Tulsa and had a nearly identical stat line on Friday against Emporia State. He was an efficient 11-for-18 from the field.

Council joins sophomore Tyson Etienne (a two-time qualifier) as Shockers who have made the honor roll this year.
