Shocker Baseball Unveils New Social Media Campaign

9/18/2019 3:14:00 PM

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State baseball is unveiling a new social media campaign for the 2020 season under new head coach Eric Wedge. Upon addressing media about the upcoming home exhibition game against Nebraska, Wedge made clear what he wants his team to focus on this season: driving success.

"We talk about creating a culture. We talk about driving success," Wedge said. "We talk about helping these young people understand what it's going to take to be the best version of themselves."

Wedge and staff not only look to use this phrase as a foundation for the players on and off the field; they look to create an impact in the community as well.

"It's not just about our baseball program," Wedge said. "It's about our athletic department. It's about our university. It's about this city and this state."

The campaign will be primarily based on social media, giving Shocker baseball fans a chance to see behind-the-scenes footage of how Wedge and players are preparing for the upcoming season and engaging with the community.

Fans can follow along on all social media platforms by searching the hashtag #DrivingSucce22, a nod to Wedge's iconic number 22 being integrated into the campaign.

Fans will be able to get a first look at the #DrivingSucce22 era as the Shockers host Nebraska in a fall exhibition game this Saturday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. at Eck Stadium, Home of Tyler Field. For more information on tickets and game details, click here.
