WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State completed the Shocker Open wrapping up the regular season Friday night, at Cessna Stadium.

In front of friends, family and teammates, Wichita State concluded the 2019 regular season, at Cessna Stadium.

Nine men and nine women were honored for senior day, amongst those being honored 10 were in action. Senior men include,
Isaiah Evans,
Hayden Bugner,
Jared Belardo,
Aaron True,
Pedro Montoya,
Nathan Wickoren,
Ben Johnson,
Connor Stine and
Kaden Griffin. Senior women include,
Kelsey Slawson,
Andrea Navarro,
Alesa Frey,
Carlea Miles,
Tangy Wiseman,
Trudy Martin,
Raianna Maples,
Sarah Hines and
Morgan Prather.

Slawson, Evans, Navarro, Frey, Bugner, Hines, Johnson, Stine, Prather and Griffin each competed on their senior day.

Slawson, a Paola, Kan., native highlighted the day bettering her school record in the shot put winning the event with a toss of 15.90m/52-2. She also won the discus with a heave of 49.05m/160-11. Navarro won her respective event as well, the Wichita native won the javelin with a throw of 42.60m/139-9.

Senior pole vaulters Bugner and Frey, ended their regular season winning their events. Bugner cleared 4.97m/16-3.50 to win the men's pole vault, while Frey cleared 3.63m/11-10.75 to win the women's pole vault.

Evans also finished his regular season on a high note recording the seventh best men's hammer throw in Shocker history of 59.73m/195-11. He also recorded a 49.99m/164-0 mark in discus and a 14.32m/46-11.75 mark in shot put.

Griffin wrapped up action for the seniors in field events finishing third in javelin with a throw of 54.05m/177-4, just short of his all-time personal best of 54.85m/179-11.

As the first senior in action on the track, Hines completed the women's 100m hurdles in 14.90 with a tie for fourth. Fellow senior Johnson followed finishing second in the men's 110m hurdles in 14.47.

The senior class concluded action on the track with Stine finishing second in the men's 800m with a time of 1:56.81 and Prather clocking in at 26.65 in the women's 200m.

Other notable performances include
Alex Adams winning the women's hammer throw with the fifth farthest mark in Shocker history of 55.42m/181-10 and triple jumpers
Amiya Anoma and
Skaila White each recorded Shocker all-time top-10 marks. Anoma won the event with the seventh farthest triple jump of 12.67m/41-7, while White recorded the 10th farthest mark in school history of 12.40m/40-8.25.

Wichita State will host the 2019 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 10-12, at Cessna Stadium.
