PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the second consecutive week, Wichita State University senior right-handed pitcher
Clayton McGinness was honored by the American Athletic Conference, as he was named to the conference's weekly honor roll for his performance on the mound during the final week of the regular season May 13-18.

McGinness, who was the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week last week, picked up his second straight victory on the rubber after tossing seven innings and giving up just two earned runs on five hits with a career-high eight strikeouts and only two walks in the Shockers' 7-6 win at USF Thursday, May 16.

The Amazonia, Mo., native gave up just one extra base hit in the game – a double – on 110 total pitches to improve to 6-4 in 2019.

McGinness and Wichita State are scheduled to face sixth-ranked ECU in the opening round of the American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Tuesday, May 21, at approximately 11:30 a.m. CT (12:30 p.m. ET) at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Fla.
