WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State student-athletes Murkel Dellien and Marius Frosa have officially been invited to join the field of 32 of the NCAA Doubles Championships, set to begin May 20 in Orlando.
 
Doubles competition will be conducted May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus after the conclusion of the team championship. All matches will be a best-of-three sets, with a 10-point match tiebreaker being played in lieu of a third set.
 
The All-conference doubles tandem become just the eighth Shocker duo to reach the Championships, and the second since Roberto Saad and Paul Smith in 1983. Tin Ostojic and Tomsilav Gregurovic reached the Round of 16 at the Championships in 2015.
  
Frosa and Dellien, who reached as high as No. 25 in the ITA Rankings, paired up for the first time on March 17 and reeled off nine straight wins as a duo. The two currently rank No. 35 in the latest ITA/Oracle Rankings and hold wins over three ranked duos. Their lone loss came in a thrilling tiebreaker to No. 18-ranked Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel of UCF in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Championship in Orlando.
