PALM HARBOR, Fla. - The Wichita State men's golf team completed the second round of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Monday.

Senior Yannik Emmert remains in the top 10 after the second round, holding a tie for seventh heading into the final 18 holes.

Emmert started the day tied for third after shooting 1-under par in Sunday's first round, but a 73 pushed him back four spots. After coming up with a birdie in his first hole, Emmert bogeyed three straight holes. He responded with two birdies on the 13th and 14th green before coming up with two more bogeys to close out his day.

If Emmert is able to finish in the top 10, it would mark the 10th time in the last 11 years where a Wichita State golfer finished in the top 10 at the conference championship. Wichita State last had a golfer in the top 10 at the conference championship in 2017, where Emmert, Grant Bennett, Conrad Walcher and Jacob Bishop each finished in the top 10 to help the Shockers to their last Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

Zac Owens finished round two in a tie for 26th after coming up with a 78 in the next 18-holes, with Brock Polhill coming in a tie for 37th after a score of 77. Dawson Lewis is tied for 40th place while Grayson Wallace is in 47th place after a 79 second round score.

The Shockers shot 305 as a team, dropping to 10th in the team standings. Wichita State trails Houston by two strokes and ECU by five strokes.

Memphis took over the team standings after shooting 282 as a team to lead SMU by six strokes. Temple and UCF are tied for third after compiling a 289 team score each, with USF rounding out the top five with a 583 team score.

Wichita State tees off the final round at 7:51 a.m. ET, with Wallace starting things off for the Shockers and every player following eight minutes after. Live stats will be available on Golfstat and action will be available for fans to watch through The American's Facebook page.
