PALM COAST, Fla. - The Wichita State women's golf team completed the second round of the American Athletic Conference championship on Monday, with seniors Gavrilla Arya and Laine Evans holding spots in the top 20 heading into the final round.

Arya shot a 75 in the second round to move in a tie for 12th place, while Evans shot 1-over par to jump ahead 13 places and is tied for 15th. Evans tallied two bogeys and two birdies in the first five holes, and two birdies on the 11th and 12th green. The Wichita, Kan., native bogeyed three of her last six holes to make the jump on the leaderboard.

Hana Mirnik improved two strokes from her first round score, shooting a 75 to jump ahead in a tie for 24th place. Mirnik was tied for 35th after the first day following a first round score of 77. Chiara Arya is tied for 47th place after compiling a 36-hole score of 160 while Annika Chickering has a 36-hole score 165 heading into the final day.

Wichita State is currently in ninth place after compiling a team score of 303, leading Tulsa by three strokes. The Shockers only trail Cincinnati, Tulane and SMU by three strokes and trail USF by seven for a spot in the top five.

Houston continued to dominate the team leaderboard, totaling a 284 in the second round to take a 20 stroke lead over UCF. ECU shot a 299 to take third place after the second day with a 595 54-hole score, with Memphis making the most significant jump from ninth place after the first round to fourth after shooting 292 as a team.

The final round tees off at 7 a.m. CST, with Chickering starting first on the 10th green and every other Shocker golfer following eight minutes after. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.
