WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State track and field program will send athletes to compete in Seattle, Wash., Fayetteville, Ark., and Pittsburg, Kan., on Friday, Feb. 8-9.

The Shockers will split competing in the Husky Classic (Seattle, Wash.), Tyson Invitational (Fayetteville, Ark.) and the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.

Distance runners
Winny Koskei,
Zack Penrod and
Rebekah Topham will head west to compete at the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington. Koskei and Topham will run Friday evening, while
Zack Penrod competes Saturday afternoon.

Topham runs the 3000m at 5:30 p.m., CT, while Koskei enters the 5000m at 7:05 p.m. CT. Koskei leads the American Athletic Conference with the fastest 5000m time of 16:17.22.

Penrod enters the men's mile on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT, his season best mile time of 4:04.80 leads The American.

Rayvon Allen travel to SEC territory to compete at the Tyson Invitational. Allen will take flight on Friday at 5:30 p.m. CT, his season best mark of 7.55m/24-9.25 is third best in conference.

Action for the throwers begins with the women's weight throw at 3:00 p.m. CT, followed by the men's at 5:30 p.m. CT. Day two of the throwing action continues Saturday afternoon with the women's shot put at 12:30 p.m., followed by the men's shot put at 3:00 p.m.

Martens season best mark of 19.76m/64-10 ranks No. 1 in The American, followed by Evans mark of 19.49m/63-11.5 at No. 2.

78 Shockers enter the Gorilla Classic, 39 men and 39 women. Friday's events start with field events at 2:00 p.m. CT, followed by qualifying running events at 4:00 p.m. CT. Day two of the meet kicks off at 10:00 a.m. CT with the 4x800m, followed by field events starting at 12:00 p.m. CT. Afternoon session of track events start at 1:30 p.m. CT with the 60m hurdles finals.
