RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - The Wichita State men's golf team finished the first round of The Farms Invitational. Rounds two and three will be completed on Tuesday, with the middle of round two stopping due to darkness on the course.Â
The Shockers are in ninth place, shooting 313 as a team in the first round. Senior
Yannik Emmert leads Wichita State in a tie for 13th place overall. Emmert is on track for his eighth top-20 career finish and third this season.Â
Coming up with two birdies and shooting for par through the first six holes, Emmert put himself in a tie for first. He double bogeyed on the 12th hole and bogeyed the 14th hole, however, but still kept himself in the top-20 halfway through the first round.Â
Emmert finished with a 76 in the first round, shooting 4-over par. Four birdies in the second round allowed Emmert to move into a tie for 15th after 14 holes, shooting for par up to that point.Â
Sophomore
Zac Owens is tied for 40th in the middle of round two, shooting an 80 in the first round.
Dawson Lewis is in a tie for 60th after a 79 first round score, while
Brock Polhill is tied for 63rd after 78 in the first round. Senior
Adrien Michellod is in 68th, shooting an 85 in the first round.Â
