IOWA CITY, Iowa – Alex Adams recorded the third farthest weight throw mark in Shocker history Friday afternoon at the Hawkeye Invitational.

Redshirt junior
Alex Adams finished fifth in the women's weight throw with a personal best mark of 17.58m/57-8.25, moving her up three spots on the Shocker all-time top-10 list to No. 3.

The Keller, Texas, native made her 2019 debut after redshirting the 2018 season in which she won three different weight throw competitions competing unattached with marks of 15.98m/52-5.25 (Herm Wilson Invitational), 16.45m/53-11.75(Shocker Prelude) and 17.04m/55-11 (Bill Butterworth Classic).

Amanda Kakoulias and
Cassidy Androff made their 2019 debuts, Kakoulias finished with a mark of 14.02m/46-0 and Androff recorded a mark of 13.10m/42-11.75.

The Shocker men placed two in the top-3, including a second place finish by
Isaiah Evans with a mark of 18.81m/61-10.5.
Cory Martens followed Evans in third place with a throw of 18.74m/61-6. The graduate transfer from Chadron State recorded the eighth best mark in Shocker history.

Aidan Camp finished with a mark of 13.64m/44-9.

Day two of the Hawkeye Invitational continues Saturday morning with the high jump and shot put at 10 a.m., followed by the running events starting at 12:15 a.m.
