DES MOINES, Iowa – Rebekah Topham breaks the 3000m steeplechase school record with a time of 10:00.59 at the USATF Outdoor Championships.
 
Rebekah Topham ran 10:00.59 to finish fifth in the first heat and 12th overall of the 3000m steeplechase prelims at the USATF Outdoor Championships. Her time not only set a personal best, it also breaks a 10-year old school record time of 10:12.28 set by Mica Land.
 
Topham ran splits of 46.50, 1:19.83, 1:18.20, 1:19.10, 1:20.36, 1:21.76, 1:19.86 and 1:15.00. Her last lap split of 1:15.00 was the fastest of all competitors.
 
The Griswold, Iowa, native advances to the finals of the 3000m steeplechase on Saturday, June 23 at 3:20 p.m. The finals will be aired on NBC.
