WICHITA, Kan. - The final weekend series of the 2018 season will see Wichita State host the USF Bulls Friday through Sunday at Eck Stadium. The Shockers and Bulls will open play Friday night at 6 p.m. with all three games on COX YurView.

Losses have come against North Carolina twice, Florida State, Fordham, Columbia, Jacksonville, UConn, Stetson twice, Tulane, Houston twice, ECU, UCF, Memphis and Florida. They are led offensively by David Villar who is hitting .370 with 17 doubles, 11 home runs and 46 RBI. As a team, they are hitting .292 with a 3.30 ERA and .973 fielding percentage. The Bulls are led by head coach Billy Mohl.
Series History vs. the Bulls
Wichita State leads the overall series with USF 3-0. This will be the first meeting in Wichita. The Shockers won 8-2 and 12-3 in New Orleans in 1985 and 2-1 in Honolulu in 2005.
Last Meeting vs. USF
The last meeting between the two teams was March 5, 2005, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Shockers won the game 2-1. Damon Sublett went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Starter Mike Pelfrey earned the win throwing five shutout innings with three strikeouts.
Bullpen to Starters
Two Shockers have seen success from moving to the rotation after starting the season in the bullpen. Freshman right-hander Tyler Davis is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in four starts this season. He has pitched 21 innings with two walks and 21 strikeouts. Sophomore right-hander Tommy Barnhouse is 2-1 as a starter with a 2.08 ERA in four starts. He has pitched 17.1 innings with three walks and 19 strikeouts.
1,000 Putouts
Senior catcher Gunnar Troutwine collected his 1,000th career putout in the May 5 win over Cincinnati. He is just the seventh full-time catcher to reach that mark in school history.
All-Time Leader
Senior shortstop Trey Vickers became the all-time Shocker leader in career sacrifice hits on May 5. He collected his 22nd sacrifice hit, which moved him past Kevin Hall who had 21 from 2008-12.
20 Home Wins
The Shockers won their 20th home game on May 5 against Cincinnati. It is the third time in the last four years that the Shockers have won 20 or more games at home.
30+ Wins
Wichita State collected its 31st win of the season on Wednesday against South Dakota State. It is the most wins by a Shocker team since 2014 when they had 31.
Hitting Streak Snapped
Junior Luke Ritter had his career-best 19-game hitting streak snapped on Sunday against Cincinnati. During the streak, he went 33-for-77 (.429) with 19 runs, four doubles, one triple, three home runs, 13 RBI, five walks, five hit by pitch and two stolen bases.
Sweeps
Wichita State earned a season sweep of Kansas with a 14-5 win on April 24 in Lawrence. The Shockers also defeated the Jayhawks 11-0 in Wichita on April 18. It was WSU's first win in Lawrence since 2012 and the first season sweep of KU since 2012. The Shockers also earned a season sweep of Oklahoma State, which was the first time since 2010.
12 Different Shockers
Twelve different Shockers have hit a home run this season. Tennessee Tech leads the nation with 15 different players.
Ritter Stays Hot
Junior utility player Luke Ritter is hitting .388 over his last 31 games. In those games, he is 50-for-129 with 31 runs, eight doubles, one triple, five home runs, 20 RBI and three sacrifice flies.
Leadoff Home Run
Junior Luke Ritter led off the April 28 game at UCF with a home run. It was the first leadoff home run for the Shockers since Greyson Jenista hit one at Indiana State on May 18, 2017.
Grand Slam Leaders
Wichita State has five grand slams this season, which is second nationally behind Tennessee Tech's six. Individually, Alec Bohm is tied for the national lead with three grand slams.
