INNISBROOK, Fla. - The Wichita State men's golf team finished in 10th position at the conclusion of the American Athletic Conference Championship with
Gage Ihrig finishing tied for 15th individually to lead the Shockers.
Ihrig finishes his senior season with his third top 20 finish on the year after carding a 2-over 73 in the final round to end at 218.
Adrien Michellod finished two strokes behind his teammate with 220 after carding an identical 2-over 73 on the final day to finish in 23rd position.
Conrad Walcher finished tied for 39th with a 4-over 75 on the final 18 holes seeing him end with a total score of 226, three strokes clear of
Jacob Bishop at 229.
Erik Angesten carded his best score of the championship on day three, a 6-over 77, to finish in 49th with 238.
No. 21 USF ran away with the championship, finishing as the only team under par at 842 and 20 strokes clear of second place SMU. UCF finished in third with 865 with the Shockers back in 10th at 892.
Angesten, Walcher, Bishop and Ihrig all complete their careers at Wichita State having been a part of a program that won two regular season conference championships and played at two NCAA regional sites.
