PALM COAST, Fla. - The Wichita State women's golf team is fifth after one round of the American Athletic Conference Championship held on the Hammond Beach Resort - Conservatory Course with senior
Taryn Torgerson tied for second individually.
Torgerson leads all Shockers with a 2-under 70, just one shy of the individual leader at 69.
Laine Evans finished tied for seventh after carding a 1-over 73 in the opening round with
Michelle Ledermann ending at 77 and tied for 26th.
Abbi Shaddix finished tied for 43rd after an 82 with
Annika Chickering in 49th after shooting 88.
As a team, the Shockers finished with 302 and in fifth position. Houston, ranked No. 23 by GolfStat.com, is leading the field with 291, while UCF is two strokes behind in second and Memphis and ECU tied for third with 296.
