AGAINST SAN FRANCISCO

AGAINST NO. 46 NEW MEXICO
The Shockers used three early first-set rallies by juniors
Marius Frosa,
Eddie Stoica and sophomore
Murkel Dellien to knock off No. 46 New Mexico.
Trailing 5-4 in the first set, Frosa roared back to force a tiebreaker and take the set (7-6) against Bart Van Leijsen in the second flight. The Lobos got on the board in the sixth flight, where Sean Baklini and
Andrea Caligiana went toe-to-to in both sets. Caligiana fell short in both sets, losing both in tiebreakers (7-6, 7-6). Herzan battled Jorge Escutia in a three-set match in the fourth flight. After losing the first set (6-2), Herzan dominated sets two and three (7-5, 7-5) to give WSU a 3-1 advantage.
