Two Shockers Chosen for 3x3U Championship

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Wichita State seniors Conner Frankamp and Shaquille Morris will team up with ECU's B.J. Tyson and UCF's A.J. Davis to compete in the inaugural Dos Equis 3x3U National Championship, March 30-April 1 at Bill Greehey Arena on the campus of St. Mary's University.
 
The new event features 32 four-man teams representing each of the 32 Division I conferences and competing for a $100,000 prize pool. Only seniors who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility may take part.
 
Teams are guaranteed at least three games. Preliminary rounds (6-11 p.m. CT on Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT Saturday) stream live on Twitter. Each of the eight pool winners advance to Sunday's quarterfinal round (1-2 p.m. CT on Twitter), and ESPN2 will carry the semifinals, third-place and championship games live from 2:30-4:30 p.m. CT.
 
Games are played in a half-court setting with each possession limited by a 12-second shot clock. Shots from inside the arc are worth one point and from beyond the arc are worth two.

Will also compete in the national 3-point championship this weekend… Set a school record earlier this year, connecting on at least one triple in 40 consecutive games… Despite playing just two-and-a-half seasons as a Shocker, ends his career ranked sixth on the school's all-time three-point field goal chart (164)… Was the nation's most accurate free throw shooter in his senior season, going a perfect 34-for-34 at the line… His .884 career free throw percentage ranks second on WSU's all-time list… Hit six three-pointers and scored a career-high 26 points in his final collegiate game against Marshall.

A first team All-American Athletic Conference selection… First team NABC All-District 25… Averaged 14.0 points and 5.6 rebounds with a league-best 51 blocks for a Wichita State team that ranked as high as No. 3 nationally during the regular season… Reached 1,000 points on Feb. 1… Finished his career ranked second on WSU's all-time blocks lists, trailing only Antoine Carr… .546 career field goal percentage is the fourth-best in Shocker history.
 
A.J. Davis (UCF)

Honorable mention all-conference honors as a senior… Averaged 12.2 points and was the conference's fourth-leading rebounder (7.4)… Finished eighth on UCF's all-time rebounding chart (633)… Father, Antonio Davis, played 13 NBA seasons and was a 2001 All-Star… Twin sister, Kaela, now plays in the WNBA.
 
B.J. Tyson (ECU)

Ranked in The American's top-10 in scoring (8th, 14.9), free throw percentage (3rd, .828) and minutes played (2nd, 36.4)… 1,570 career points are the second-most in American conference history and the fifth-highest total in ECU history.
