FARMERS BRANCH, Texas - The Wichita State women's golf team finished fifth at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational with senior
Taryn Torgerson leading the Shockers with a seventh place individual finish.
Torgerson carded a 1-over 74 in round three to end the two-day event with 228. She finished three strokes clear of
Michelle Ledermann whose 4-over 77 saw her finish with 231, good for tied for 11th, her best finish of the season.
Annika Chickering finished at 239, good for tied for 42nd, after shooting 79 with
Laine Evans at 242 (tied for 52nd place) and
Abbi Shaddix with 243.
Competing individually
Gavrilla Arya also finished with a total score of 242 and tied for 52nd.
As a team the Shockers ended the three rounds with 936, 27 strokes behind the winners Houston Baptist who finished with 909. Akron finished second with 921 and NIU finished in third with 926. American Conference rival Cincinnati finished one stroke ahead of the Shockers with 935 in fourth position.
The Shockers now look to Mountain View Intercollegiate hosted by Kansas State in Oro Valley, Ariz., March 23-25.
