WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State's
Shaquille Morris was named to the American Athletic Conference honor roll, Monday – the third time in five weeks that the senior has landed one of the league' weekly plaudits.
Morris -- a 6-foot-8 center from Edmond, Okla. – twice topped 20 points in Shockers win over Tulane and SMU, matching his career-high (25) in the former. For the week, he averaged 23.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting over 68 percent from the field.
For the season, Morris is averaging 14.0 points per game. He leads The American in blocks (1.6) and ranks second in field goal percentage (.570).
The Shockers (23-5, 13-3 American) climbed two more spots in this week's Associated Press Poll to No. 11. They take a six-game winning streak with them to UCF (17-11, 8-8) on Thursday night for a 6 p.m. CT tip that will air nationally on ESPN.
WSU wraps up its regular season Sunday at Charles Koch Arena against No. 10 Cincinnati (25-4, 14-2).
