Shockers in the Pros: Dec. 27, 2018

Wichita State men's basketball alumni are playing professionally on six continents. Here's a look at some of last week's top performances, courtesy of Sports I.T. Solutions / Eurobasket.com.
 

#1. Joe Ragland (6'0''-PG | 2012 | Serbia) was the major contributor in a Crvena Zvezda's victory against the Galatasaray 100-83 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. He recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 assists. Ragland also added four rebounds in 27 minutes. Crvena Zvezda MTS Beogradis placed fourth in Eurocup's Group G. Ragland is averaging 15.7 points and 6.5 assists-per-game.

#2. Garrett Stutz (7'0''-C | 2012 | Japan) led Toyotsu FE to a two-point victory over first-place Kumamoto Volters (20-6) 85-83 on Saturday night in a clash between the two top-two teams in the Japanese B2 League's Central Division. Stutz was the MVP, finishing with a double-double (31 points and 13 rebounds). He also added three assists. Stutz's first season with Toyotsu FE has gone well. He's averaging 22.6 points, 13.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists through 25 games.

#3. Conner Frankamp (6'1''-PG | 2018 | Bulgaria) led undefeated Beroe to a victory against the sixth-ranked Academik Plovdiv (4-6) 85-72 in the Bulgarian NBL last Sunday. The first-year pro scored 17 points and added five assists in 31 minutes. BC Beroe is off to an 8-0 start to Bulgarian League play, and Frankamp is one of the big reasons why. He's averaging 18.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals.

#4. Fred VanVleet (6'0''-PG | 2016 | NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-26) 126-110 in the NBA on Friday night. VanVleet scored 14 points, had five rebounds and dished out eight assists. VanVleet's third season with the Raptors (25-10) is off to a good start. He's averaged 10.0 points and 4.4 assists through his first 30 games.

#5. Landry Shamet (6'4''-G | 2018 | NBA) scored a career-high 17 points in 22 minutes to help the Philadelphia 76'ers to an easy 131-109 victory over the New York Knicks last Wednesday. The rookie guard is averaging 8.0 points and 1.4 boards.

#6. Gal Mekel (6'3''-PG | 2008 | Russia) put up 11 points but his team, Zenit Sankt Petersburg dropped to 5-5 after a 90-67 road loss to second-ranked Khimki. Mekel has averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 assists in three games.

#7. Rashard Kelly (6'7''-F | 2018 | Russia) recorded 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 27 minutes but was not able to help Parma in their game against BC Nizhny Novgorod in the VTB United League. Kelly has relatively good stats this season 10.8ppg, 8.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg.

#8. Toure Murry (6'5''-G | 2012 | Italy) performed well on Sunday with a team-high 23 points to go with four rebounds, three assists and three steals, but his UCC Piacenza club lost 93-83 to Bondi Ferrara in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Murry has very impressive stats in 13 games this year: 16.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals.

#9. Darral Willis (6'9''-F | 2018 | Cyprus) couldn't help Keravnos in its game against Apollon in the Cypriot Division A. Willis recorded nine points and grabbed six rebounds in 23 minutes. His team was defeated 82-76.  Willis has relatively good stats this season: 14.7ppg and 9.2 rpg.

#10. Anton Grady (6'8''-F | 2016 | Iceland) led Fjolnir to a victory over the sixth-ranked FSU 85-81 in the Icelandic D1 (second division) on Friday night. Grady was MVP of the game. He had a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds along with two blocks. For the year, Grady is averaging 26.0 points, 17.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 blocks in 10 games.
