TULSA, Okla. - Taryn Torgerson finished in second place individually after carding her lowest 18-hole score of the tournament in round three of the Oral Roberts University Shootout. As a team Wichita State finished fourth with three Shockers finishing within three strokes of each other. 

Torgerson led the Shockers from start to finish, carding 2-over 74's in both rounds of play on day one before a 2-under 70 in the final round secured second place individually for the third competition straight. The senior from Buhler, Kan., is averaging a 72.23 stroke average after three competitions this season. 

Laine Evans finished tied for 22nd after carding 78 in round three. Evans shot her tournament best score of 73 in the second round to finish with 231 overall.

Taylor BeDell carded the best tournament score of her Shocker career so far, also finishing tied for 22nd with 231 overall. The freshman from St. Joseph, Mo., shot 76 in the back 18 to finish level with Evans.

Abbi Shaddix finished tied for 36th after carding 78 in the final round to finish with 233. Michelle Ledermann rounded out the Shocker lineup, finishing tied for 71st after ending with 240 overall.

Lamar carded the best team score of the tournament on the final day to win the tournament by four strokes. The Cardinals finished at 896, ahead of tournament hosts Oral Roberts who took second with 900 while Arkansas State finished third with 906. Wichita State finished in fourth with 911 through the three rounds.

The Shockers travel to Columbia, Mo., Monday and Tuesday Oct. 2-4, for the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri. The competition will be the final road tournament of the fall slate for the Shockers and will feature a number of Big 12 and SEC opponents.
