SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Taryn Torgerson earned her 16th career top-10 finish behind a tournament best second round score, en-route to finishing in second position individually at the MSU Payne Stewart Memorial. The Shockers finished in fourth position as a team at the two day event.

Torgerson carded the tournament's best score on day one with a 3-under 68, one stroke behind her career low 18-hole, to lead the Shockers with 218 overall, good for 5-over par. The senior from Buhler, Kan., shot a 1-over 73 in the final round to finish the tournament in second position.

Michelle Ledermann earned her highest finishing position of her Wichita State career, finishing tied for 15th behind three solid rounds of golf. The sophomore from Bolivia carded 75 on the final day to end the tournament at 225, also a career low 54-hole score.

Laine Evans carded her best score of the tournament on day two to finish tied for 28th. Evans carded a 2-over 73 in the final 18 holes to finish at 228 overall.

Taylor BeDell finished four strokes behind Evans at 233. The freshman finished tied for 44th after carding 77 in the final round while Gavrilla Arya withdrew from the final round of play due to an injury.

Competing individually, Annika Chickering shot the lowest 54-hole score of her Wichita State career to finish tied for 22nd. Chickering shot a 4-over 75 on the final day to finish at 226 overall, only one stroke from cracking the top-20. 

Abbi Shaddix also competed individually, finished tied for 32nd with 229 after carding 77 in round three.

As a team the Shockers finished in a clear fourth position after carding sub 300 scores in the final two rounds to end at 902. Memphis pulled away from the field to win the tournament, finishing with 874, while Murray State finished second with 888. UTEP finished in third with 896. 

The women have a two week gap before they are back in action at the Bob Hurley Shootout, the second of their fall tournaments hosted by Oral Roberts in Okla. The two day competition runs Monday through Tuesday, Sept. 25-26.
