NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Wichita State improved to 3-0 on the season with a sweep of Belmont in the LUV Invitational. The Shockers won by scores of 25-20, 25-13 and 25-23.
Tabitha Brown led the Shockers with 10 kills and 11 digs, while
Abbie Lehman added eight kills.
Emily Hiebert had 26 assists, nine digs and three blocks, while
Giorgia Civita had 11 digs.
SET 1:
• The Shockers came back to win the first set over Belmont 25-20

Jenny Whitledge led the Shockers with three kills and six digs in the set
• WSU got off to a slow start with just four kills and four hitting errors through the first 25 points with Belmont taking a 14-11 lead
• The Shockers tied the score at 19 on a Bruin hitting error and took the lead 20-19 on a block by

SET 2:
• WSU hit .345 in the second set and defeated Belmont 25-13
• Two-straight kills from
Tabitha Brown gave WSU an early 14-7 lead
• The Shockers scored the final eight points of the set for a 25-13 win
SET 3:
• WSU won a back and forth set 25-23
• The third set went back and forth until the Shockers scored three-straight on a Pugh kill, Whitledge ace and Raudsepp/Pugh block for a 14-11 lead
• The Bruins used two kills and an ace to tie it back up at 18
• A block by Wright and Raudsepp put the Shockers up 21-18, but Belmont tied it at 23 with a kill
• The Shockers scored the final two points of the set for the 25-23 win
