Final Results

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Led by Yannik Emmert and Gage Ihrig, the Wichita State men's golf team finished the three-day Furman Intercollegiate Tournament in 11th place after carding 868 as a team.

As has been the case for much of the spring season, Emmert led the Shockers all three days behind a 3-under opening round score of 69. Emmert shot a 2-over 74 on the final day to finish with 214 and tied for 14th overall.

Ihrig carded his best score of the tournament on the final day to also finish tied for 14th. After carding 73 and 72 in the first two rounds, Ihrig shot a 3-under 69 to also finish with 214.

Grant Bennett carded his highest score of the weekend on the final day to finish tied for 60th. Bennett also shot a 3-under 69, in the second round, before eventually finishing the three round tournament with 221. 

Jacob Bishop finished tied for 79th after carding 72-78-74 through the three rounds to finish at 224.

Conrad Walcher finished two strokes behind with 226 after carding 78 on the final day to finish tied for 92nd.

Competing individually, Max Mason finished the tournament tied for 48th behind solid rounds of golf in the first two rounds before fading in the third. Mason finished with 219 overall.

Clemson was the tournament's runaway winners after carding 280 or less as a team in each round. The Tigers finished with 835 overall, good for 29-under par. South Carolina - Aiken finished second with 849 (15-under par), with Chattanooga and Georgia Southern sharing third after both finishing with 855. Wichita State finished the tournament back in 11th after ending the tournament with 868.

The Shockers are back in action April 10-11 at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic which is held in Chandler, Ariz.
