SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Zach Lewis threw seven shutout innings to lead Wichita State to a 2-0 win over Cal Poly in the final game of a three-game series.
Lewis allowed just four hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
Bryant Klusener went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a double, while
Noah Croft went 2-for-4.
The Shockers grabbed the lead in the fourth. With two outs,
Alec Bohm singled to centerfield and
Noah Croft followed with a single to right-center that the right fielder threw away and allowed Bohm to score for a 1-0 lead.
WSU added to the lead in the fifth. With one out,
Jordan Boyer singled to left field and scored on a double down the third base line by
Bryant Klusener, his first career hit as a Shocker, to push the lead to 2-0.
The Shockers are next in action on Tue., March 21 at Oral Roberts at 6:30 p.m.
