Final Results

Columbia, Mo. - The Wichita State women's golf team finished in 12th position at the Johnie Imes Invitational behind Taryn Torgerson's fourth top 20 finish of the year. 

After carding the tournament's second best single round score of 69 in round two, Torgerson shot a 1-over 73 in round three to finish on 218 overall, good for 2-over par and tied for 11th individually. The senior from Buhler, Kan., [ranked 150 out of over 1,600 women golfers on GolfWeek.com] leads the Shockers with three top 10 and four top 20 finishes this season.

Laine Evans finished 10 strokes behind Torgerson on 228. Evans shot an even par 72 on day one but opened the second day with a 8-over 80 and 4-over 76 to eventually finish tied for 42nd. 

Abbi Shaddix finished at 236 after shooting 77 and 80 [finishing tied for 62nd individually] with Taylor BeDell finishing in 66th position on 238. BeDell struggled on day one but improved dramatically to card a 1-over 73 in the final 18 holes.

Gavrilla Arya withdrew due to injury after carding 78 in the opening round. 

Tournament hosts Mizzou led the field from the first tee, carding a tournament best 284 in round two en-route to a seven stroke victory with 861 overall. East Tennessee State finished in second position at 867 with Middle Tennessee finishing in third with 877. Wichita State finished in 12th position with 910 through the three rounds. 

The Shockers final tournament of the fall slate will be the MVC Preview which they host at Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kan. Wichita State will join its old conference rivals Oct. 16-17 for a 54-hole tournament on the par 72 course.
