Game Day Changes for Charles Koch Arena

10/12/2017 9:13:00 AM

WICHITA, Kan. – With Wichita State's move to the American Athletic Conference, there will be several game day changes for events in Charles Koch Arena.

Metal detectors will be used at all entrances for all men's basketball games. Fans are encouraged to arrive early in order to be in their seats by tipoff. Prior to going through the detector, fans will need to empty pockets, including keys and phones.

WSU will also mirror INTRUST Bank Arena's Bag Policy to provide consistency within the two WSU basketball facilities in Wichita. Only bags that are smaller than 14 inches long, 14 inches wide and 6 inches high will be allowed. All backpacks including those smaller than the new bag policy dimension are not allowed to be brought in. Diaper and medical bags will be allowed, but are subject to search prior to entrance. WSU encourages fans to pack light and bring only what is necessary in order to speed up the entry process to the arena.

At the time of purchase, bottle caps will be removed from all bottled drinks (water, soda, Gatorade, etc.) to comply with American Athletic Conference rules.

Beer will be sold until the 10-minute mark of the second half. Students sitting in the student section who are 21 and wish to purchase a beer must stop by an ID station outside of the student section to get their ID checked. Students observed drinking a beer without a wristband are subject to ejection.

The American Athletic Conference requires each pep band to be away from the visiting team bench. To comply with the rule, WSU has moved Shocker Sound from section 117 to section 116.

Starting on July 1, Wichita State University became a tobacco free university. WSU has a no re-entry policy and fans will no longer be able to use tobacco products inside or outside any athletic facility on the campus of Wichita State.

Fans are encouraged to contact arena ushers/security/personnel with questions or concerns at any point during the event.
