WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State baseball team opened its first day of spring practice Fri., Jan. 27 at Eck Stadium.

WSU returns seven starters from last year's squad, including juniors Gunnar Troutwine and Trey Vickers and sophomores Greyson Jenista, Dayton Dugas, Alec Bohm, Luke Ritter and Travis Young. The Shockers also return starting pitchers Willie Schwanke, Cody Tyler and Zach Lewis.
Fans have an opportunity to meet the 2017 team at the annual First Pitch Banquet on Thurs., Feb. 2. Steve Sax will be the featured speaker and tickets can be purchased at the Shocker Ticket Office or by calling (316) 978-FANS.

Wichita State kicks off the 2017 season on Fri., Feb. 17 against Utah Valley at 3 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
