Â
Shocker seniors
Rebecca Pedrazzi,
Julia Schiller,
Summer Schlotterback,
Abby Stevens and
Aleksandra Trifunovic will be honored during the afternoon portion, when WSU meets Missouri Valley Conference co-leader Southern Illinois.
Â
The match between WSU (22-3, 5-0 MVC) and SIU (13-9, 5-0 MVC) will likely decide the MVC's regular season championship. Though SIU must still travel to Missouri State the following day, the Shockers could guarantee themselves at least a share of their eighth-consecutive crown by downing the Salukis on Saturday.
Â
The Series with SIU: WSU leads 32-10SIU last defeated the Shockers just over 10 years ago (April 6, 2006). Since then, WSU has won 13-straight duals against the Salukis by a combined count of 76-3. The last nine meetings have all resulted in Shocker sweeps. WSU had a similar run of 15-straight wins against SIU from 1985-98.
Â
The Series with Evansville: WSU leads 25-0
Evansville has never defeated the Shockers. The teams have met 25 times since 1996.
Â
In Play:WSU sophomore
Giulia Guidetti's next win would give her the school's single-season wins record outright. She's 34-5 coming into the weekend, tied with Pizza Hut Shocker Sports Hall of Famer, Sandy Sadler, who went 34-11 during the 1983-84 season.
Â
Double Play:Pedrazzi (28-9) is two doubles wins shy of the 30-win mark for the year. She'd be just the fourth player in the program's 40-year history to reach that plateau, joining Anna Egorova and WSU's all-time most successful doubles duo of Sadler and Jill Braendle, who went 33-6 together in 1983-84 to share the single-season record.
Â
Pedrazzi and Trifunovic are 25-9 this year (18-3 in duals). Pedrazzi has also earned a win-each with Schiller, Schlotterback and Guidetti to reach 28.

Â
Transfers, Stevens (Colorado State) and Trifunovic (Florida International) joined the mix over the next two years. Stevens arrived as a sophomore in 2013-14 and Trifunovic as a junior in 2014-15.
