Scouting Kansas
The Jayhawks are 14-20 overall and 3-8 in the Big 12. Wins this season have come against Northern Colorado twice, Utah, North Dakota, Saint Louis, Purdue, Murray State, No. 16 Missouri State, Benedictine, Baylor, Baker, No. 6 TCU, Omaha, and Texas. Losses have come against Little Rock, Utah, No. 5 Oregon State twice, BYU three times, Murray State, Stanford three times, West Virginia twice, Baylor twice, No. 16 Missouri State, No. 6 TCU twice, and Texas twice. As a team, they are hitting .275 with a team ERA of 5.63 and a .964 fielding percentage. They are led offensively by Michael Tinsley who is hitting .366 with 14 doubles, 24 RBI and five stolen bases. KU is led by head coach Ritch Price.

Series History vs. the Jayhawks
Wichita State leads the overall series with Kansas, 42-32. WSU is 19-16 overall against the Jayhawks in Lawrence.  

Last Meeting vs. KU
The last meeting between the two teams was April 21, 2015, in Lawrence, Kan. The Jayhawks won the game 11-6. Sam Hilliard went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a home run to lead the Shockers. Starter Reagan Biechler took the loss.

Jenista Coming on Strong
Freshman Greyson Jenista has continued to improve this season. Over the last 22 games, he is 23-for-67 (.343) with 15 runs, two doubles, one triple, three home runs, 17 RBI and 18 walks. He is also 9-for-19 (.474) in those games with runners in scoring position.

Mucha Leading Off
After a rough stretch at the beginning of the season, senior outfielder Mikel Mucha has rebounded over the last 30 games. During that span, he is 37-for-98 (.378) with 19 runs, six doubles, one triple, 16 RBI, 19 walks and five stolen bases.

Dugas Taking Off
Dayton Dugas led the Shockers to a series win over defending MVC champion and No. 15 Missouri State over the weekend. For the week, he went 6-for-14 (.429) with four runs, three doubles, six RBI, two walks and a stolen base. On Tuesday against Oklahoma, he went 1-for-3 with a run, a walk and a stolen base. In game one against the Bears, he went 2-for-4 with two runs, three RBI and two doubles and in the series-clinching win he went 3-for-3 with a run, three RBI, a double and a walk.
 
Lewis Close to Perfect
Zach Lewis earned his first career Division I win in the series-clinching win over No. 15 Missouri State on Saturday. He pitched a career-best 6.1 innings and allowed one run on three hits with one walk and five strikeouts. He carried a perfect game into the sixth inning after retiring the first 15 Bears that he faced. He allowed a leadoff walk in the sixth and gave up his first hit, a single, with one out in the sixth. He gave up his only run in the seventh on a single and a double that ended his outing.

Tyler's First CG
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Cody Tyler earned his first career win with a complete game victory on Friday over No. 15 Missouri State. He allowed two runs on 11 hits with no walks and five strikeouts. Three of the five strikeouts came in the first inning with runners at first and second and nobody out. The five strikeouts tied his career-high and the nine innings was also a career-best.
 
Ritter Heating Up
Freshman Luke Ritter had an impressive week for the Shockers. In four games, he went 7-for-12 (.583) with five runs two doubles, two RBI and two walks. In Valley play, he is now hitting a team-best .462 with four runs, two doubles, one RBI and two walks.
 
Series Win

Wichita State won games one and three against No. 15 Missouri State over the weekend. It was first series win for the Shockers over a ranked team since taking two out of three against No. 9 Cal State Fullerton in 2014.
