August 31 AVCA Poll

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State volleyball team is receiving votes in the August 31 AVCA Poll.
 
The Shockers received 12 points in the poll after starting the 2015 season 2-1. WSU defeated Oregon State, who is also receiving votes, and Idaho and lost in four sets to No. 17 Hawaii.
 
WSU next travels to College Station, Texas, Sept. 4-5, for the Texas A&M Invitational where they will face Abilene Christian, New Mexico State and Texas A&M, who is just outside the top-25 at No. 27.
 
The Shockers open the season at home on Thurs., Sept. 10 against South Dakota State in the Shocker Volleyball Classic. WSU will also face Northern Illinois, No. 10 Kentucky, Texas State and No. 6 Illinois in the tournament.
