WSU Announces 2015 Volleyball Schedule

WICHITA, Kan. -
Wichita State head volleyball coach Chris Lamb announced July 1 the 2015 volleyball schedule, which includes 14 home matches and four tournaments.  The Shockers will face seven teams in 2015 that participated in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
 
The Shockers will open the season, Aug. 28-30, at the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii. WSU opens the season with 2014 NCAA Regional semifinalist Oregon State and plays host Hawaii, another 2014 NCAA Tournament participant, the following night. The Shockers wrap up the tourney with Idaho.
 
The following weekend, Sept. 4-5, the Shockers will travel to College Station, Texas, for the Texas A&M Invitational. WSU will face 2014 NCAA Tournament participant and host Texas A&M as well as Abilene Christian and New Mexico State.
 
The Shockers open the home portion of their schedule, Sept. 10-12, with the Shocker Volleyball Classic at Charles Koch Arena. WSU will host South Dakota State and Northern Illinois on Sept. 10 and then face 2014 NCAA Tournament team Kentucky on Sept. 11. The Shockers wrap up the tourney on Sept. 12 with Texas State and 2014 NCAA Regional semifinalist Illinois.
 
WSU will travel to Milwaukee, Wis., Sept. 18-19, for the Marquette Invitational. The Shocks will square off with 2014 NCAA Tournament team and host Marquette, along with IUPUI and Albany.
 
The Shockers open Missouri Valley Conference play on Sept. 25 with Indiana State and face 2014 NCAA Tournament team Illinois State on Sept. 26 in Wichita.

Other home matches include Missouri State on Oct. 2, Bradley on Oct. 16, Loyola on Oct. 17, Drake on Nov. 6, UNI on Nov. 7, Southern Illinois on Nov. 20 and Evansville on Nov. 21.

In 2014, WSU finished ninth in the Shocker record books in total attendance (27,706) and second in average attendance (3,078) and finished eighth nationally in average attendance.
