A three-time cross country All-American, Mornay was at the time of his induction the holder of the school's cross country record in both the 8,000-meters and 10,000-meters,as well as the indoor and outdoor track records in the 3,000-meters, 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters events. He was also the first Missouri Valley Conference athlete to win three MVC championships. A native of Johannesburg, South Africa (StoffBerg), he graduated from WSU in 1993 with a degree in business management, and also worked as a graduated assistant with the Shocker track and field staff in 1996 while pursuing a graduate degree in business administration.
