WICHITA, Kan. – Both Wichita State track and field teams will travel to Colorado Spring, Colo. for the Air Force Invitational on Friday. The Shockers will compete against Air Force, Sacramento State, and MVC rival Indiana State.
Events start at 3 p.m. with the women's weight throw and women's pole vault.

What to Watch For:
Women's High Jump:
Sophomore
Ashley Petersen is looking to continue her success in the high jump event. Petersen has won all three indoor competitions that she has competed in and currently ranks second in the MVC with a best jump of 5'-9 ¾'' and will compete against Indiana State's Rachael Johnson, who ranks third in the MVC with a best jump of 5'-7''.
Men's 60m Dash:
Several Wichita State sprinters will compete in the men's 60-meter dash.
Austin Bahner has recorded the best time of all of the Shocker sprinters and ranks sixth in the MVC with a time of 6.91 seconds. Along with Bahner,
Jonathan Duvall (7.10),
Grant Ralston (7.06),
Taylor Cross (7.21),
Cody Scheck (6.99), and
Marcus Moeder (7.10) will represent Wichita State in the 60-meter dash event.
Men's 200m Dash:
Freshman
Tate Annis ranks second in the MVC in the 200-meter dash and will compete against three Sycamores that are ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth in the MVC. Annis' 200-meter time of 22.20 seconds falls just behind MVC leader Brandon Carnes (21.88) of Northern Iowa.
Men's Mile:
Ugis Jocis and
Kelvin Busienei rank third and fourth, respectively, in the men's mile in the MVC. Jocis has posted wins in the mile race at both Shocker home meets this season.
Women's 60-Meter Hurdles:
The Shocker women own four of the top-five spots of the MVC in the women's 60-meter hurdle event. Nikki Larch Miller ranks atop of the MVC with a hurdle time of 8.59 seconds. Twin sister
Taylor Larch-Miller is second at 8.60 seconds.
Shanice Andrews is currently ranked third in the MVC at 8.62 seconds, and
Natalie Morerod is fifth at 8.67 seconds.
Men's Pole Vault:
Indiana State's Byron Ferrell and Wichita State's
Ethan Pearson are ranked number one and two in the MVC in the men's pole vault. They will battle at the Air Force Invitational on Friday. Pearson is coming off m indoor personal best vault at the Varsity Apartments Invitational at 16'-6 ¾''.
