WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State's recruiting class has been ranked No. 21 by Baseball America. It is the second top-25 ranking for the Shocker class as Collegiate Baseball ranked WSU No. 2.
“We had zero commitments for this class when we were hired last summer, so it is a credit to our coaching staff for putting together this talented recruiting class,” head coach Todd Butler said. “We had seven recruits drafted and were able to get six of them to school. Our coaching staff has worked extremely hard in bringing top-notch talent to Wichita State.”
Six of the recruits were drafted including third baseman Chase Rader (16th round), right-handed pitcher Isaac Anderson (19th round), left-handed pitcher and first baseman Sam Hilliard (31st), right-handed pitcher Chase Williams (37th), outfielder Keenan Eaton (39th) and catcher Taylor Sanagorski (39th).
Rader and right-handed pitcher Jon Ferrendelli earned first team NJCAA All-America honors in the spring, while freshman left-handed pitcher Jeb Bargfeldt and freshman outfielder Bret Fehr earned Collegiate Baseball High School All-America honors in the spring.
