BSB: Fall World Series Set to Begin Oct. 24

WICHITA, Kan. – The annual Wichita State baseball Fall World Series will begin on Fri., Oct. 24, at Eck Stadium.  Game two of the series will be on Sat., Oct. 25 with game three on Sun., Oct. 26.

The Shocker roster will be divided into two teams, the Black and the Gold. The rosters will be announced at a later date.

WSU will also be having Halloween Screamage on Thurs., Oct. 30. The Shockers will dress in costumes and play a seven-inning game. Kids 12 and under in costumes get the opportunity to go on the field for the National Anthem and run the bases after the game. Other WSU student-athletes will be handing candy out during the game and there will be a costume contest for students. The baseball team will also be signing autographs after the game.

The Black squad won all three games of the 2013 Fall World Series.

Mikel Mucha hit .545 with three RBI for the Black squad, while Erik Harbutz hit .545 with two RBI. Reagan Biechler went 2-0 and pitched 5.2 shutout innings with six strikeouts.

Wes Phillips hit .364 for the Gold squad, while Dayne Parker hit .333 with one RBI. Foster Vielock pitched two shutout innings for the Gold.

Admission to each game of the Fall World Series and Halloween Screamage is a can of food for the Kansas Food Bank.

Fall World Series Schedule

Game 1 — Fri., Oct. 24, 2 p.m.

Game 2 — Sat., Oct. 25, 10 a.m.

Game 3 — Sun., Oct. 26, 5 p.m.

Halloween Screamage — Thurs., Oct. 30, 6 p.m.
