WICHITA – Calvin Pearson was named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer-of-the-Week for April 24.  The junior tied for fourth place at the Boilermaker Invitational over the weekend.

Competing unattached, Pearson turned in his best performance of the Spring and tied the third-best finish of his three-year career.  Pearson carded a steady even-par 216 (72-71-73) at Kampen Course.  He was one of seven competitors in the 93-golfer field to score par or better. 

It was the eighth top-10 finish of Pearson's career and fifth top-5 finish.  This is his first MVC Golfer-of-the-Week award in 2012-13 and the third overall for his career.  The junior from Johannesburg, South Africa ranks fifth in the MVC with a 73.17 stroke average.
