BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Wichita State men's tennis team won the doubles point and used five singles victories to defeat Illinois State 6-1 on Sunday at Evergreen Racquet Club.
Matheus Pereira and Tin Ostojic defeated Erik Brunskog and Muddappa Appanervanda, 8-4, and Ilija Cuic and Erick Reyes defeated Alexander Pelaez and Rodrigo Oliveira, 8-3 to give Wichita State a 1-0 lead.
The Shockers continued their great play in singles competition winning five-out-of-six matches. Erick Reyes won his 12th straight match by defeating Rodrigo Oliveira, 6-4, 6-2, and Tomislav Gregurovic captured his fourth straight decision with a win over Rolando Torrellas, 6-3, 6-2. Ilija Cuic clinched the match by defeating Erik Brunskog, 7-5, 6-2. Matheus Pereira and Tin Ostojic also won in singles play.
Wichita State will play its last home match of the season against Southern Illinois on Saturday, April 20. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
