WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State men's tennis team will
welcome McPherson to Genesis Health Club on Wednesday, February 13.
McPherson (6-0) is coming off a pair of 9-0 wins against
Southwestern Christian College on Sunday, February 9. Sophomore Rafael
Bulnes is ranked No. 43 in the ITA NAIA national rankings for singles play. As
a team, the Bulldogs are No. 17 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
Wichita State (3-2) fell 6-1 to No. 27
Texas Tech on Saturday, February 9, but then came back on Sunday for a 6-1 win against
Lamar. Senior team captain Matheus Pereira had a big win at No. 1 singles,
defeating Vitor Manzini of Texas Tech, 4-6, 6-3, 12-10. Pereira and Tin Ostojic
also had a successful week in doubles play, defeating Felipe Soares and Jeff
Bryan of Texas Tech, 8-5, and Mikko Rajamaki and Bruno Snyder of Lamar, 8-2.
