LUBBOCK, Texas- The Wichita State men's tennis team defeated
Lamar 6-1 on Sunday at the McLeod Tennis Center.
The Shockers grabbed an early 1-0 lead when Matheus Pereira
and Tin Ostojic defeated Mikko Rajamaki and Bruno Snyder of Lamar, 8-2, and
Guillermo Nicol and Alvaro Gutierrez defeated Trey Crysel and C.P. Lindqvist of
Lamar, 8-5, to capture the doubles point for Wichita State.
In singles play, the Shockers won five out of six matches to
take down the Cardinals. Erick Reyes grabbed his seventh singles victory of the
season, defeating Mikko Rajamaki 6-4, 6-2. Ilija Cuic, Tomislav Gregurovic,
Guillermo Nicol and Tin Ostojic also all grabbed points for Wichita State by
defeating their opponents.
The Shocker men return to the court when they host McPherson
on Wednesday, February 13 at Genesis Health Club. First serve is set for 12:30
p.m.
