WICHITA, Kan. - Former Wichita State volleyball
student-athlete Jackie Church has been named to the 19-player roster for the
Heart of America Havoc. The team will
play in the Premier Volleyball League, a professional, region-based indoor
women's league sanctioned by USA Volleyball.
Church, a libero from Fairway, Kan., played for the Shockers
from 2008-12. She finished her career
with 1,276 digs, which ranks seventh-best in Shocker history.
Joining Church on the team is current WSU assistant coach RJ
Abella, who will also be an assistant coach for the Havoc.
The complete Havoc roster includes: Maya Mapp (Ohio State, 2005), Jamie Adams
(Missouri State, 2008), Allie Huffman (Central Missouri, 2012), Kristen Oberzan
(Texas Tech, 1998), Victoria Henson (Iowa State, 2010), Bethany Fuller
(Missouri State, 2011), Tara Schmidt (Olivet Nazarene, 2011), Jenna Kaiser
(Kansas, 2011), Molly Nichols (Kansas, 2003), Emily Brown (Kansas, 2007),
Jessica Kopp (Washburn, 2012), Lindsey Hood (UMKC, 2004), Christiana McQuin
(UMKC, 2011), Leslie Vance (Middle Tennessee State, 2010), Chrissy Elder
(Pittsburg State, 2003), Molly Haggerty (Kansas, 2001), Jackie Church (Wichita
State, 2012), Rachel Fister (Central Missouri, 2011) and Eli Medina (Truman,
2009).
The team will begin practice Feb. 9, 2013 in preparation for
its first match at the President's Day Classic in Omaha, Neb.
