ST. LOUIS- The Missouri Valley Conference announced that
Wichita State thrower Chris Dubree earned it's Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Award.
A senior from Bloomington, Ill., Dubree earned fourth place
at the Adidas Classic with a throw of 54-4 3/4 (16.58m) in the men's shot put.
This toss currently ranks Dubree fourth in the Valley's shot put standings this
season.
Dubree improved his season best by over 2.5 feet in the
event. Earlier in his 2013 campaign, he launched his way to victory in the Herm
Wilson Invitational in his first meet of the season with a throw of 51-10 1/2.
Currently, Dubree ranks sixth on the Shockers all-time
indoor performance list in the shot put (55-5 ½) and holds the eighth longest
outdoor throw in Shocker shot put history (55-7 ¾).
Dubree returns to competition at the Varsity Apartments
Invitational Fri., Feb.1 and Sat., Feb. 2 in the Heskett Center. He won the shot
put at this meet a year ago.
