WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's golf team will play
in their first tournament of the 2012-13 season at the Chip-N-Club
Invitational, Sept. 10-11 at Lincoln Country Club in Lincoln, Neb.
The Shocker women are loaded with experience, returning
seniors Hannah Martin, Natalie Samb, Hollie Weatherburn, and All-MVC player,
Gretchen Huhnerkoch. Also returning are sophomore Daniela Rugeles and redshirt
freshman Madison Murphy. Newcomers include senior Sarah Gilbert, who spent last
season on the track team, and two talented freshmen Bryce Schroeder and Meghan
Schuetz.
The field includes Creighton, Houston Baptist, Iowa, Kansas
State, Missouri, Missouri State, Nebraska, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, SMU,
South Dakota, Wichita State and Xavier.
Last year the Shockers took 11th place out of 15
teams with a score of 968. SMU won with a score of 920.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start
at 9 a.m. and 18 holes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live stats
