WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State track & field team takes to the road this weekend for its first away meets of the indoor season after winning 14 events at the season-opening Herm Wilson Invitational at home last week.

A handful of Shockers are entered to compete in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational Friday, then will join the majority of the team in the Adidas Classic Saturday in Lincoln, Neb.

The Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational begins at 11:30 a.m. Friday with events taking place in both the Nebraska Wesleyan Knight Fieldhouse and at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Nebraska's campus. Student-athletes from Wichita State, Doane, Nebraska, Air Force, Nebraska Wesleyan, Northwest Missouri State, Hastings, Baker and several other programs are schedule to compete.

Nebraska hosts the Adidas Classic starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and will compete against Wichita State, Houston, Air Force and Iowa in the meet at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Nebraska men are ranked fifth in the preseason U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings, and the Nebraska women are ranked 25th in Division I. The Iowa men's team is ranked 16th in the preseason list.

In addition to winning 14 event titles at the Herm Wilson Invitational, the Shockers won both the men's and women's team titles in the meet Jan. 11-12 at the Heskett Center.

Shocker Lawson Montgomery's Herm Wilson Invitational 60-meter hurdle time of 7.95 was tied for 19th in the nation on the TFRRS 2011-12 Indoor College Leaderboard Thursday. Montgomery is slated to compete against a field that includes Iowa's Jordan Mullen Saturday in the 60-meter hurdles. Mullen has the nation's 10th-fastest time in the event this season (7.87).
