Normal, Ill. - The Illinois State Redbirds defeated the Wichita State Shockers, 4-3 in a close and hard fought match on Saturday afternoon.

Illinois State clinched the doubles point with their 8-6 win in the No. 3 match between Skip Span/Juan Varon (ILS) and Adrian Chermaci/Valentin Mihai (WSU).

The Redbirds clinched the match with Skip Span's win in the No. 5 match against Valentin Mihai, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a closely contested three-set thriller.

Wichita State will return to action tomorrow when they travel to Peoria to take on the Bradley Braves.
