WICHITA,
Kan. - Wichita State baseball student-athletes Preston Springer and Jordan
Cooper have been named to the 2010 American Baseball Coaches Association
Midwest All-Region Team. Springer
was named to the first team and Cooper to the second team.
Springer,
a junior from Denton, Texas, hit .324 with 54 runs, 71 hits, 20 doubles, one
triple, 11 home runs and 59 RBI.
He earned first team all-Valley honors and was also named the Missouri
Valley Conference Newcomer-of-the-Year.
Cooper,
a sophomore from Berryton, Kan., went 10-3 with a 2.01 ERA. He pitched 107.1 innings with five
complete games and 95 strikeouts.
He earned first team all-Valley honors and was also named the Missouri
Valley Conference Pitcher-of-the-Year.
