Hatch Named Third-Team Academic All-American

WICHITA, Kan. --  Wichita State junior Graham Hatch has been named to the third-team Academic All-American men's basketball team presented by ESPN The Magazine as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).


Hatch, a 6-foot-4 junior guard from Mesa, Ariz., carries a 3.7 in Chemistry and has started every game in 2009-10 for WSU, averaging 9.4 points and 4.0 rebounds. 


To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.


Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.


Earlier this season he was named to the All-District VII Academic Team to advance to All-America voting. District VII consists of schools from the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. Candidates must own a min. 3.30 GPA.
