• The Wichita State women's basketball team travels to Springfield, Mo., in search of its first conference road win as they take on Missouri State in JQH Arena on Saturday at 2:05 p.m.

• While the Bears own the overall series with WSU, the Shockers have won seven of the last 10 meetings including a 52-51 decision in last season's MVC Tournament. WSU hasn't won in Springfield since taking a 75-67 win in the Hammons Student Center on Jan. 7, 2007. Lexee McDonnell hit five 3-pointers and led all scorer's with 24 points in a game that was the first of a WSU-MSU doubleheader on ESPNU.

• Saturday's game against Missouri State can be heard at ShockerRadio with Brian Petrotta in his second season as play-by-play man for Shocker women's basketball. Tip-off between the Shockers and Bears is at 2:05 p.m.

• Wichita State will be looking to improve upon its 1-3 mark in true road games this season. The Shockers' lone road win came at Kent State back in December. If WSU is to walk out of JQH Arena with a win, it will have to improve on both ends of the floor as the Shockers average just 57.0 points per game while allowing 74.2 points per game on an opponent's home floor this season.

• In contrast with her teammates, sophomore Haleigh Lankster has had some of her best games on the road. Lankster enters Saturday's game averaging 17.5 points per game in true road games including a 24-point performance at Kent State and a 20-point effort at Drake.

• Led by freshman Jessica Diamond, the Shocker bench has been contributing all season. WSU averages 22.1 points off the bench and hasn't scored less than 17 points in conference play. Diamond scored 16 of WSU's 29 bench points against Indiana State.

• Saturday's matchup will feature the league's best offense against one of the league's top defenses. The Shockers enter the game third in the MVC in scoring defense, holding teams to 61.9 points per game while MSU leads the conference averaging 76.7 points per game.

• Missouri State is coming off a 81-72 loss to Illinois State on Monday. The Bears are led by sophomore guard Casey Garrison's MVC-leading 18.9 points per game. Sophomore Jaleshia Roberson's 14.1 ppg rank her sixth in the conference, making MSU the only team in the conference with two scorer's ranked in the top six and help fuel an offense that ranks first in the league and 21st in the nation.
