WICHITA -- Junior guard Alicia Sanchez will miss at least the non-conference portion of the 2009-10 season due to personal reasons, head women's basketball coach Jody Adams announced Thursday.

"Obviously, we will miss having Alicia on the court for the non-conference part of our schedule, as she is an integral part of this program," Adams said. "We look forward to getting her back on the floor as soon as possible."

Sanchez, a 5-9 guard from Peoria, Ariz., is expected to be available for WSU's conference slate which begins in January.
