COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Wichita State men's golf team dropped three spots in the final round, and finished sixth at the UMB Bank-Mizzou Tiger Classic, which concluded Monday at the Old Hawthorne Country Club in Colubmia, Mo. The Shockers finished seven strokes behind fifth-placed Michigan State, and two strokes ahead of seventh-placed Michigan.
Connor McHenry led the Shockers in the event, posting a three-round score of 223 (75-76-72), and finished tied for 12th. Ryan Spears and Zac Potter were each three strokes back, carding identical scores of 226 to finish in a tie for 21st place, while Dustin Garza fired a 227 (71-74-82) and finished tied for 25th. Ty Sanders rounded out the Shocker scorecard with 233 (80-72-81) and finished tied for 44th.
Competing as an individual, Brad Boan carded back-to-back rounds of 79, and finished with a round of 78 for a grand total of 236 on the tournament, and a tie for 50th.
The Shockers have nearly two weeks before their next tournament when they travel to Davenport, Iowa for the 2008 Missouri Valley Conference tournament.
