WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State senior Ryan Spears was named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer-of-the-Week for the week of March 12-19, the conference announced today.

Spears shot a 208 (70-70-68) in three rounds on his way to a fourth placed finish at the Barona Collegiate Cup in Lakeside, Calif. The Shockers finished sixth in the 12-team event.

The Shocker stand-out is the top-rated golfer in the Missouri Valley Conference in the most recent Golfstat ratings, posting a 70.71 average score over eight tournaments this season. This is Spears' third golfer-of-the-week award this spring.
